A General Guide to Our Prices, and How we Work.
The Proposal Design/Custom Quote Writing Process:
After booking with us, we begin our design process for our clients. We draft up each custom proposal for every client, based on all the information, ideas, details, and needs/wishes we cover in our initial design meeting. We then wrap that all up in a comprehensive document that covers everything from proposed florals, quantities, a floor plan, inspiration imagery, a proposed color palette, and a guide on how our table styling and floral sizing works. We create this document because our clients then have all the information they need to know about their custom floral package to continue making informed decisions both stylistically and financially about this floral service. Collectively we use this document as a reference point to continue editing and refining together until we all agree on an exact plan for your wedding.
Here is an example below from a page from our proposals that you will see once you receive your custom proposal from us. We usually take the event floor plan from the planning team and translate that into a digital key so you can see visually the amount of florals you will be getting, where they are going, and what exact floral arrangements they are.
(Not shown here, but the following pages in the proposal will show imagery that further describes the proposed florals, their sizing, their styling, and the colors for the specific event.)
This is what we use to add up everything that is broken down at the end of your proposal in an organized and itemized pricing list for all the proposed floral pieces we will need to create and provide for your wedding. These quantities are added together to create a base total, we add our labor charges on top, and finally tax to get the grand total that is unique to your floral proposal.
What are your labor charges?
We add a 28% - 35% labor charge on top of the subtotal for all floral product for all weddings/events that require our full floral service. This labor charge is a range based on the event scale, intended work, event location, and any additional services that is unique to each event. It is determined specifically per event based on it’s unique scope of work. This labor charge. essentially covers all the luxury services required to make your wedding run smoothly from our end as designers.
This includes: sourcing, professional design, communication, support, production, on site installation, breakdown, and clean-up.
So why can’t I know ahead of time how much flowers are?
Flowers are a funny thing when it comes to pricing.
For example one arrangement that is the same size may cost different than another arrangement for a different purpose but is also the same size. So for example, If I have two of the same size arrangements made in the same vase, but one arrangement is only orchids and the other arrangement is greenery and light pops of florals, while they may be the same size. They each took different types of florals to create a specific look. This makes them different and which would then be priced differently.
Florals come in so many different varieties, this is what makes our job fun and what makes the beauty of floral design so special. With different florals though comes different prices based on where they are grown, how they grow, how long they take to grow, how big they are, and even how rare they are. This is why one single stem of an orchid we get from the Netherlands can be $40 a stem, vs a single stem of ranunculus can be $3 a stem.
This is why each proposal, each quote, and each client’s wedding is unique and will never be priced the same. This is why we have to create a custom quote and proposal for each client. Ultimately each client will have different visions for their wedding, different tastes, different personalities, and different venue sizes, ultimately different weddings of all scales.
With this, we don’t have set pricing per floral piece, as we need to know first what kind of florals/style each client is envisioning for their day. A client wanting a simple grassy wedding with bud vases is going to have different costs than a wedding that has luxury orchids, anthuriums, and rare flowers everywhere.
We do however have a general price range per typical floral items we do for weddings that we use to determine the cost of each piece, and with this knowledge above these ranges are below.
These ranges show base line how much each item can cost based on what florals are being used to the general max that item can cost. These prices are unique to our work, and can serve as a general idea on how much you could be paying per piece when receiving a custom quote from us.
These prices below are per item. Note that these are based on our real life pricing, but shown here is a range as each as florals fluctuate in price based on seasonality, availability, and quantity.
Bridal Bouquets: $225 - $400 (based on size, floral types, and style)
Bridesmaids Bouquets: $75 -$125 (based on size, floral types, and style)
Boutonnieres: $30 - $45
Posey’s: $55 - $75
Small Table Arrangement: $145 - $195
Medium Table Arrangement: $225 - $345
Large Table Arrangement: $350 - $475
Bar Pieces: $500 - $900+ (depending on styling, scale, and floral varieties)
Extra Large Ceremonial Arrangements, Statement Pieces: $800 - $1,500+
Floral Installations (hanging, ground, walls, arches, etc): $1,750 - $3,500+
Why are you sharing this?
The wedding industry is really so overwhelming, I get it. I know it’s hard to understand. It’s always a couples first time inquiring, planning, reaching out to vendors, hearing back about pricing and availability, and in general their first time committing to so many choices and financial decisions. To narrow it down to floristry, know one ever knows how much florals cost. There is a reason why, cause it isn’t all black and white like I say above. Each wedding is unique, thus having custom pricing that is unique to each event. So one can’t really say how much something will be for an event until we as floral designers know all the details. With that said, the floral industry can feel so unknown, and clients can feel so uncertain about what they are booking and what they are paying for.
While I cannot offer a free quote quickly to everyone as that takes some time to do, I can list my general prices above so you can do some math yourself and see what a general cost would be based on all the florals you want for your day.
I want to provide all of this information because I want you as a client to feel sure about what you are getting into when you book with us. We provide a unique, luxury floral experience, with a dedicated team of professionals that create magical floral work for your day. All of that is hard to grasp at first, but If I can provide as much information as possible about our work, our process, and our pricing, hopefully this give you some readiness, transparency, and trust before booking with us.
How do you calculate it all?
Referring back to our proposal, and the image above that shows a floor plan. We take the price of each item and multiply that by how many of that item you would need for your event. Based on the list above, say you need 25 medium arrangements since you have 25 tables, and you need an arrangement per table. Say each arrangement quoted for your specific wedding based on style is $275 per. $275 × 25 would be $6,875.00.
The investment page covers every floral item like that listed, with the cost of each item and how it relates to the quantities you need. All that is added together to make one subtotal, and going back to our labor fee, we add that percentage on top to create a grand total.
Why do you charge a Labor fee on top the cost of florals?
Bottom line, this is what keeps our business going. There is surprisingly a lot of backend work you don’t typically see when it comes to this medium, as well as extensive overhead involved specifically with event/wedding floristry. The added service charges covers the professional labor of so much backend work that makes everything with our work in weddings run as efficiently as possible. With the nature of perishable products such as flowers being professionally handled the week of your wedding. There is only so much time we have as florists to get everything created in time to be delivered for the wedding day.
Full transparency on our process, we receive all florals for weddings typically that Tuesday or Wednesday for a Saturday wedding. These florals have been ordered a month in advance, as a lot of these florals come from various parts of the country and the world. The day the flowers get into our studio, it takes about a team of 3-5 to fully prep and condition the florals that have been shipped and handled from many vendors across the globe. Once they get into our studio on this day they are usually weak from being out of water for a little while. We clean, cut, and organize all the florals to get them ready for design day, and they need to condition (hydrate in water a full night) to be ready and sturdy for design day. Just this alone takes one whole day, and if we don't do it with care, clients won't receive the product they've paid for in quality condition.
This leaves us typically Thursday-Friday to create all floral pieces that have been paid for, and depending upon the wedding size and how many florals are needed this could take about 3-7 professional floral designers to make everything in time to be delivered on that Saturday. Those two days we spend in the studio designing and creating every floral piece by hand, making sure each arrangement, each bridesmaid bouquet, each bar piece, each boutonniere is up to our standards and yours, and is ready for the wedding.
When it comes to wedding day, we as a team have arrived early to the studio, and are starting to pack our van up with everything our clients have paid for and expect to be brought to the venue and set up by our hands in a timely manner. This includes so many things beyond the florals, such as the vases we've sourced (or in our specific case, hand-made vases that are unique to us in our inventory) Candles, and all the things needed for candles. All of our tools, such as ladders, lighters, shears, trash, and everything we need to have on site at the wedding to get our work done. All of these things and the florals are delicately individually packed into bins and boxes and carefully transported to the venue. This expertise requires specific level of skill to do such unique and delicate work as quickly as possible.
Once we arrive to the venue, we begin setting up. This involves us carefully unpacking all the florals, and arrangements, and going through each of them one by one and replacing any florals that may have broken or moved during transport. We set everything up where it is intended to be, making sure every single floral piece looks the best. We place every candle, every decor item, every floral arrangement, install any installations, and at the end of it all we clean up, pack our van and leave.
The wedding/event floral service is a luxury service. This explanation doesn't even begin to cover our whole process, but this gives a little insight as to how everything about a wedding has to come together quick and perfect. Weddings are a luxury. They require so many hands, so much professionalism, and so much skill to pull off. It's a lot of work, but it is so worth it to see our clients have the best day ever. They are enjoying a glass of bubbly while getting dressed, and hanging out with their friends while we make sure their tables are set, and their flowers are where they want them to be. This is why we have a labor charge.

“I want Floral Studies to inspire and educate on what is possible with the art of floristry. To me, it goes beyond something pretty, it’s about sentiment, passion, and memory.”
How I like to think about flowers
Flowers are more than just a filler or an after thought. Their beauty is only temporary, gently reminding us the importance of taking a chance to take in their beauty and live in the moment before it passes. In events, I believe this is why flowers are important. They help represent the beauty and meaning behind why we’re gathering together. They set the mood, they impress, and their job is to help preserve the essence of these special moments into everlasting memories.
With a job so important, I fully believe in taking our job seriously as designers, using the beauty of flowers and turning them into unforgettable art. Taking cues from nature, and morphing flowers into temporary sculptures that really make people stop to take it in. This moment of awareness is what makes them so special and memorable.
