Weddings (full scale production and on-site installation)

Floral Studies has a minimum spend for any wedding that requires our full on-site floral installation and design services. This includes consistent communication, planning & support, sourcing, design, setup, installation, break-down, and clean up.

$10,000 - $25,000 Minimum for full service weddings that require prior production, planning, and on-site design, setup, and cleanup services.

Why the range?

Base line we have a range because we believe in a designer floral service for varying wedding sizes, so our minimum isn’t set to one number. Knowing the venue and estimated event size ahead of time is important to us as this is how we are able to plan the right amount of support it takes to produce a wedding of a specific size. A small wedding at the post house is going to take a different amount of staff and product than say a large wedding at The Dewberry. Being able to be flexible from the beginning allows us to have room to be able to produce weddings of a wide variety of scales.

While it is easier to set our minimum to one value, I personally don’t want to miss out on a cool wedding for sweet clients or a fun event just because “it’s too small for us”. While our base minimum is still high, this base rate allows us to be able to have the right amount of support for a floral package at the $10k mark to be produced efficiently while being able to source all the right florals and materials needed to create a luxury floral experience that is unique to the Floral Studies style. Also on the other spectrum our base minimum for a wedding that would require our $25k minimum also would require a specific amount of florals, labor, and materials needed to create a floral experience needed for a wedding of a large scale.

Basically a wedding designed for 80 people would cost totally different than a wedding designed for 200 people. A wedding for 80 would be at a smaller venue, and a wedding for 200 would be at a larger venue. Both require florals and service, but at different levels of intensity. This is why we have a minimum range.

How much do your weddings usually cost?

To explain this further, our wedding investment estimates can be broken down into sizing categories since we do events of different sizes.

For Large Weddings: Our typical wedding investment for all floral products and labor usually lands in the $30k - $40k range for larger scale weddings at venues like the Dunlin, Ocean Course, and Montage at Palmetto Bluff.

For Mid-Large Weddings: Like The Dewberry, William Aiken House, Lowndes Grove, or The Gibbes our work typically lands in the $22 - $30k range.

For Small Weddings: At venues like The Post House, Leons Oyster Shed, or The Nickel Hotel, our work typically ranges from $8 - $18k. (we sometimes categorize our small weddings like our Post House weddings in our small party category since they are similar in size and would require less labor and product to produce.)

Each wedding is unique, with different floor plans, different floral needs, and different styles. These ranges listed above can give you an idea on what our projects in the past have turned out to be financially. While this provides a little insight and transparency on our typical floral investments for all custom wedding work, each wedding is unique and receives a custom quote for the proposed floral work during our design process.

How does the process work?

All wedding clients receive a custom quote, a comprehensive floral proposal/production document that is unique to their event after a mandatory design meeting and submitting a retainer and signed contract that reserves our floral services for their date. These ranges above give an idea for what is expected for the floral investment based on our events and wedding sizes in the past, but will ultimately be unique to each wedding based on all custom floral needs. Our custom quote is given to each client during our design process, and we do not begin any custom design work until our services are reserved via a retainer and contract.

Once each client has received their custom proposal, we go through an editing phase together to continue narrowing down the scope of work to fit each clients needs both stylistically and financially. This stage typically goes through a few rounds of edits, emails, and potential meetings. Once every detail is finalized, we then begin our invoicing process which typically starts 1.5 months before the wedding date.

Why a minimum?

Our style is important to the creative process that makes the Floral Studies  experience so unique and intentional. A minimum protects the creative integrity the makes our style bespoke, ensuring we are able to source all of the premium materials necessary to provide the best floral experience for you on your big day.

Our work focuses on the use of a wide variety of luxury flowers to create our look, having a minimum budget helps us make sure we are able to source these flowers for your event. Alongside flowers, a minimum also allows us the time and physical support needed to protect the creative process that is needed for bespoke floristry. Without a minimum we would not be able to afford the time, efficiency, labor, materials, and tools needed to create a thoughtful and intentional floral experience for you and your loved ones to enjoy on your wedding day.

A minimum also ensures we have enough florals and any other decorative materials for your venue and event space. In order to create the most impact, we like to make sure that there is at least floral covering all of the typical places you would see florals. (tables, bar, entry, personals, etc) With a minimum that is flexible per event and venue size, we are able to be transparent about how much this would at least cost to cover the basics.

We also have a decent sized team involved that helps make the production process run smoothly. Wedding florals are no joke, it may seem like a easy process as we really try to make it feel that way so it’s less stressful for you to not worry about us. But in order to keep things efficient and produced in a short timeline we must have a team of many hands that helps us get everything done within such a short time frame. Our flowers usually arrive on wednesday, and from wednesday to Friday or Saturday, everything needs to be produced and professionally made in time for the wedding. with production and setup having such a short time frame when using perishable product, this requires a highly skilled team. Our minimum makes sure that we are able to support having our team at each event, cause without a strong team, our production quality would not be wedding worthy.
